AUSTRALIAN EMC STANDARDS
Australia's EMC regulatory environment is largely a self compliance regime subject to periodic audits by the ACMA. Most electrical and electronic products marketed in Australia must comply with the appropriate C-tick EMC standard and be labelled with the C-tick logo and ACMA issued supplier registration number. Generally the simplest approach to assure initial compliance is by formal C-tick testing and issuance of a recognised test report. A declaration of conformity is signed by the supplier to indicate compliance to the appropriate standards and that all products supplied are the same as the sample tested. Periodic re-testing of products is consequently recommended where a supplier does not have direct control of the manufacturing process and consistency with the sample tested cannot be assured.
C-tick testing includes conducted and radiated emissions compliance measurements. Some of the more common EMC test standards which the EMI/EMC Laboratories of RFI Industries located in Australia can test to are listed below. There are many more and if the EMC standard for C-tick testing you require is not listed please contact us as we most likely can test to it. If issues are found during testing various EMC technologies can be applied to achieve conformance if compliance engineering assistance (investigation, consulting) is required.
