Panels
Our modular series panels are constructed of a layer of zinc plated, 24
gauge steel sheets, laminated to both sides of high moisture resistance
panels. The walls, floor and ceiling panels are of the same
construction. Each panel is nominally 2.4m by 1.2m. The panels are
joined and supported by specially designed members that clamp the edges
of the panels and provide continuous, uniform and constant pressure
contact against the shielding elements of the panels. The walls are self
supporting from floor to ceiling with no bracing against the parent room
construction. The ceiling may be self supporting or supported by hangers
from the structure ceiling.

Framing System
The steel framing system consists of four types of section;
"M," "U," "hat" and "flat." The
"M" and "U" sections form the corner joints and the
"hat" and "flat" sections form the intermediate
joints. These sections are made of zinc plated steel. The "M"
and "hat" sections have nustserts (a captive nut system) fixed
at 10 cm centres. The "U" and "flat" sections have
corresponding punched holes. The entire framework is supplied with
integral interconnecting tabs to enable erection and dismantling to be
carried out without undue loss of time.

Ventilation
RFI enclosures are equipped with waveguide vents which are
designed to permit maximum airflow for cooling, heating and ventilation
without degrading the shielding efficiency of the enclosure. RFI
waveguide vents provide a maximum head loss of 0.1 inches of water at
1500 feet per minute air velocity. Special sizes and assemblies can be
made to order.

RF Filters
Every wire entering an RF shielded enclosure requires a filter to
prevent conducted signals from entering the enclosure. RFI will
supply and fit the necessary filters for both mains power and
signal or control lines to ensure that the overall RF integrity of
the enclosure is maintained. As a separate service, RFI stocks
and supplies a full range of RFI filters to MIL-STD-220A. Ask for
our separate catalogue which covers filters from 100mAmps to 400
Amps rating.

Exhaust Fans
RFI can supply and fit wall or ceiling mounted exhaust fans to
an enclosure. These exhaust fans are fitted over a
standard waveguide vent, Part No. WG230/230. Control switches can
be supplied for three speed and reverse flow operation.

Penetrations
RFI provides a complete range of RF penetrations for
signal, data, water, fire monitoring etc., connections. RF connectors (N, UHF, BNC etc.), can be
manufactured to fit on one penetration panel or made to suit a
particular layout as required. Special waveguide entries for
water, air, gas or fibre optics are readily available from our
fully equipped manufacturing facility at Bayswater.

Clear View Windows
RFI Industries' clear view window provides a clear sharp
view into an enclosure. The window, fully glazed on both sides,
incorporates a stainless steel mesh configured to eliminate moire effects.

Architectural Treatment
Standard enclosures include heavy duty vinyl tile floor covering,
with the interior and exterior finished in hard wearing lacquer
to the customer's colour choice. Optional extra interior finishes
can be provided at extra cost and include acoustic tiling,
pre-finished plywood, veneers or special finishes to walls and
ceilings.
Most conventional architectural treatments are compatible with
these modular enclosures. Suspended ceiling systems utilising
aluminium grids and plain or acoustic paneling enhance the
interior. Walls may also be treated with acoustic paneling, wall
paper or painting in a wide range of colours.
Special effect lighting, wall or ceiling mounted, complements the
interior decor whilst floors may be finished in carpet
tiles.

Design Installation Testing
RFI Industries offers a complete service to customers requiring
consultation and design for M.R.I. facilities. In addition, our
experienced teams travel world wide to meet shielding enclosure
installation and testing requirements.

and reliability which will encompass a complete range of installation
requirements to suit the majority of MR Suppliers.

RFI Industries Pty Limited provides full testing
facilities for testing to MIL-STD-285 and NSA 65-6. Every
installation is tested and certified. Testing and
