Sliding Doors
RFI Industries has designed the Model RT-RS series of retractable sliding doors for installation in anechoic chambers.
Retraction
The door is designed to retract for a distance to clear the absorber depth before sliding to provide the clear opening. The retractable distance is set at manufacture as it affects the design of the carriage system. If required, an alternate retractable distance may be confirmed at the time of ordering.
Sliding
Total sliding distance is the width of the clear opening.
Material
Steel (supergal).
Operation
Manual or automatic.
Weight
The total weight of the door frame carriage system and support structure is approximately 7000Kg for a typical size of 3.5m (w) x 4.0m (h).
Performance
Magnetic Field 70dB at 10kHz, increasing to 100dB at 100kHz
Electric Field 120dB from 10kHz to 100MHz
Plane Wave 110dB from 100MHz to 10GHz and then decreasing to 100dB at 18GHz.
Operating sequence
The total operation of the door is by electric and hydraulic automation and is powered by separate electric motors operating in sequence and a hydraulic locking system. The operation sequence for opening is in 3 stages.
- Unlatching of the hydraulic locking mechanism.
- Motor 1 retracts the door perpendicular to the frame.
- Motor 2 slides the door parallel to the frame to provide the clear opening.
This sequence is reversed to close the door.
RFI Industries is able to supply a large range of doors, including double doors, sliding doors, large chamber doors and electrically operated doors. Special door features include electro-mechanical door interlocks, alarm systems, waveguide vents and window inserts.
